About The Owners

The Mosaic Market owners, Melina and Derith, have been friends since they were 10 years old, sharing a lifelong passion for creativity and community.

Melina, Hawaiian-born and Texas-bred, considers Arlington her hometown. With a background in sociology, government, human kinetics, and clinical psychology, she has built a career helping others achieve their goals and dreams. Her love of entrepreneurship and the arts has led her to create The Mosaic Market, a space for local artisans and small businesses to thrive.

Derith, always passionate about art, started her college journey in advertising but switched to nursing, a career she has excelled in for nearly 30 years. Recently remarried, she has been inspired to return to her creative roots. Together with Melina, she is excited to bring The Mosaic Market to life, providing a vibrant space for the community to enjoy.

Both Melina and Derith have overcome numerous challenges to make their dream a reality, drawing on their diverse experiences and deep friendship. They have created The Mosaic Market to be the kind of place they always wished existed—a haven for art lovers, gift givers, and treasure hunters alike.
